MY ANALYSIS

Why is there a need to make a survey of available materials before making your own materials?
  • It is important to make a survey of available materials before making our own materials to help us to be more creative by learning some ideas from the others but never imitate it.
  • It will also add some ideas in our plans in making such materials.
  • It gave us knowledge on how those materials are related and useful in our topic.
Upon seeing those instructional materials, it gives us suggestions on how we are going to deliver the lesson more beneficial and effectively.

MY REFLECTIONS

What materials did you like the most? Why?
The materials that I did liked the most are the visual charts and games. These materials are more effective and more interesting for the students where they can both see and hear and more likely to retain the information. Education is part of life. It should be fun and challenging and not boring. These educational games for students make learning fun with math facts, language arts, and more. Children enjoy learning with educational games. Students can learn with math addition facts, multiplication flash cards, language puzzles, and more to make their learning experience rewarding and fun.

What difficulties did you encounter in making the materials?
In deciding what appropriate materials should be used in teaching before considering the topic.
Besides teacher qualifications and school facilities, another important determinant of quality of education is the teaching and learning materials. It is essential for quality materials to be made available to the teachers and students in adequate quantities to support the teaching and learning processes.

  How did you overcome it?
I overcome it by analyzing what should be the materials that are needed for teaching. I did some trial and error in order to get a reliable result the most common among these materials are books, newspapers, magazines and other reading materials that supplement the textbooks.Ideally, every student in every class should possess his/her own copy of the textbooks required by the school for each grade and each subject. The textbooks may be new or previously used by other students. Textbooks may be provided by the school, their parents, friends or other bodies such as NGOs.Which really help for the learning of the students.

Make suggestions to the teachers in the preparation of teaching materials.
In preparing the teaching materials for the teachers, they should consider the topic first, the learners and the availability of the learning materials. It will be easy for the teachers if their materials are already available and accessible. If one of the teaching materials is visual aids, it should be clear esp. the font size and style. And if it is auditory, it should be clear and slow.

The materials should be also inexpensive but it is not necessary that the teachers should really buy new one because he/she must be also resourceful.Naturally our activities cover the maths that children learn every day in school. But more importantly we designed them to help children enjoy the concepts, the connections and the clever little tricks that make maths so fascinating. We want children to love to learn maths, to lay the foundations for later learning and to help them flourish at school and beyond.
